The metadata layout now contains a method widget. Method widgets to not have fields, and are not editable with CPSTypeMaker, so yes, quite correctly, you can't use the CPSTypeMaker to edit the metadata anymore.

This was a specific feature required by CGEY, and I think we should simply turn it off by default.

There is not "Edit metadata" link anymore, so this has probably been fixed for quite some time now.
